Intellectual Property Rights
We have worked extensively with artists and creative people and understand them – because we are creative ourselves. Understanding creative people is as importance as understanding intellectual property and entertainment law. This understanding extends to the many companies of various kinds that have intellectual property, in one way or another, at the core of their businesses. We pride ourselves on finding the right solution to protect and fight for intellectual property rights.
We advise our clients to identify, create and protect the value of their intellectual creations, including names, logos, brands, products, talent, experience, procedures, and publications. Areas of substantive law in the field include copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, unfair competition and cybersquatting.
We litigate disputes involving internet domain names, counterfeiting and piracy of intellectual property, and patent, trademark and copyright infringement.
We prepare, file, and prosecute trademark applications in the Trademark Office.
We negotiate and draft licensing agreements for obtaining revenue from trademarks.
We enforce trademark and trade dress rights and defend against assertions of infringement.
We advise and represent clients in infringement actions and other forms of litigation before courts of law and administrative agencies, including the Trademark Office and certain foreign forums.
We advise our clients in the transactional aspects of using and protecting intellectual property, information and modern technology.
We assist clients in documenting intellectual property and technology transactions and offer advice on structuring transactions and negotiations.
Our clients can expect a depth and breadth of support in both their transactional and litigation issues.
We handle a broad range of legal matters in all areas of entertainment and interactive media for recording artists, songwriters, film composers, producers, managers, record labels, publishing companies, and other creators and creative enterprises.
We explore creative ways to acquire, preserve and exploit music copyrights and other intellectual property rights, and then vigorously defend and protect them on behalf of our clients.
We advise on matters that involve questions of employment law, contract law, labor law, agency, right of privacy, defamation, advertising within the music and film industry, actors, painters, sculptors etc.
We advise on entertainment law practice such as drafting contracts, negotiation and mediation, but also on situations that may lead to litigation or arbitration.

HOW CAN WE HELP
Multiple areas of expertise in one place
We are recognised as one of the few law firms in Romania that have specialised in proving title and successfully asserting historic property rights.
Unlike lawyers who are generalists and offer litigation as an add-on to offering legal advice, we specialise in litigation and we have a lot of experience winning cases since the 1990s.
Our inheritance practice springs out of our real estate business and our experience of recovering nationalised properties for their heirs.
We try to help our clients to prevent going to court, but if it is not possible to reach an agreement amicably friendly terms that we find the right angle in the law to protect our clients’ interests.
Having the knowledge of Anglo – Saxon law as well of Roman law, having the knowledge of the market and geo political context we are able to design the right understanding between the contracting parties.
The experience of being involved in various non profit organization as active members or on board helped us understand this area of law that is up and coming for the Romanian society as well as for legal advisers.
